Update 05-14-2018


Hi All,

We got a bunch of stuff this patch. We added a new interactable, a plug that can drain the water from the lake to stop those pesky campers from using it as a shield to stay in the lead.  It also refills so you can use it but only a short while before the plug reappears to allow others to drain it.

We heard you're feedback saying the alpha change when hit isn't enough of an indication of when you're taking damage. So we added a camera shake that shakes harder the more damage you take based on your current costume's max health. That way if you just got hit with the scientist's doomsday device you'll definitely feel it. It also makes it so costumes with lower health feel it more since they are in a sense weaker (vitality wise) and so it takes a bigger chunk of their health out.

We also listened to feedback in regards to the spammy nature of the scientists basic attacks especially when using the poison cloud.  While we just increased the base costume's icecream projectile to reduce spam and that worked well for that costume, it didn't really fix the scientist since it makes it too vulnerable while it's on cooldown and his first ability also becomes in a sense, useless since all you can do while waiting for the basic attack to become available again is swap what next chemical you'll use but not being able to use it. To fix this we made it so if they already have a chemical on the field using the same chemical again will remove that effect.  For example player one (using a scientist costume) uses the  fire chemical and then uses it again the previous fire disappears but then they swap to an explosion chemical attack the fire will remain until its time is done. That being said if they use fire, explosive, then fire and the first fire is still there both fires will remain. This opens up the door for really good players to create a few different attacks really quickly to force their opponent into a situation that favors you. It also has a minor effect for lesser skilled players since they can still use other chemicals and abilities while they wait for the first chemical to disappear.

Finally we updated a bunch of art on the map. Now the map edges are blocked off by a fence and beyond it is more land instead of just a black void. We also improved the dirt tiles by adding better looking dirt with more features on it like sticks, grass patches, and rocks. This makes every mesh with the new art direction we're going towards and it looks better overall. We'll keep improving the art overtime so don't worry it'll only keep getting nicer from here!

  • Fixed bug where player projectiles will hit interact collider instead of actual object collider

  • Fixed player's death count bug that accidentally added two instead one when switching costumes in certain situations

  • Updated Map art. Dirt and the edges of the map now have better looking art as well as more diverse of the art. Outside of map now has detail instead of nothingness
